You can Uri L’Tzedek’s teacher Rabbi Avi Weiss. His activism is not motivated by a deep understanding of events, but rather an emotional, confrontational approach (cf. wearing Concentration Camp uniforms at a showing of The Passion of the Christ).
There’s definitely a theatrical component to certain protest, which itself may call attention to the cause. The first step though is in determining if the cause is just.
My point is that Avi Weiss has of attention-getting irresponsible protests.
Responsibility has to be taught especially to those who are planning on entering Jewish leadership positions.
