Remember last year I went to see the One Man Star Wars Trillogy? It looks like the guy is back in Chicago and now also does a one man Lord of the Rings. It's in a bigger theater and the tickets are a little more expensive, but not by much.

Actually, there are several shows playing in Chicago including the pre-broadway production of Spamalot with the original cast. Surprisingly, these are also relatively affordable especially compared to NY.

At some point I figure I'll need a break from writing. So, if I'm going to see one show this year, what should it be?

Any recommendations?

There's an incredible amount of great theater in Chicago; I wouldn't limit myself to just one show, if I were you.

The Pegasus Players have put on a string of well-received shows in recent years, and if you've never seen the Neofuturists, you might wanna check 'em out.

As far as the full-size "Broadway" type shows you linked to, I'd suggest catching "Spamalot" (they do have a sing-a-long section in the theater, right?). The show might still need tinkering, but I bet the energy of the cast early in the run will more than make up for any possible shortcomings.

Lest your readers think Chicago is devoid of culture, I want to mention a Jewish music festival on Dec 25th called "Knishmas." It's at the HotHouse. Since you are the keeper of the Jewish Guitar Chords database, I think this would be right up your alley.

The line-up, in order, is:
Listen Up
Evën Sh'siyah
Yuri Lane
Farbrengiton
Blue Fringe
